Why Operators Pick

The Drink & Snack Vending Machine RDS

A busy deployment comes down to three things: how many people it converts, what else the location gets out of it, and how easy it is to manage. Here is how this machine does on each.

The screen sells harder

In a 350-person lobby, 7 in 100 buy at $3.25. That is about $2,390 in monthly sales. You keep about $980. At $7,400 delivered, it pays for itself in about 8 months. People buy more from a picture menu than a keypad, and the screen runs ads for the location or a brand between sales, which is income the machine earns while nobody is buying.
Run your own numbers.

It gives the location something back

Surveys, a lottery, a random reward on every tenth purchase, a welcome message with the building's name. The RDS runs these on the same screen that sells, so a property manager gets a machine that fits their space and their brand. That is how you win the lobby the other operators are pitching for.

VMFS Cloud remote telemetry

Every RDS ships with a 90-day VMFS Cloud trial. Because every purchase goes through the screen, the data is cleaner than any keypad machine: what sold, when, what people picked and put back, what they answered in the survey. Sales, stock, alerts and pricing from your phone, and add machines as you grow.

Specifications

Allow 40" in front for the door and 2" behind for airflow. At 50.2" wide the cabinet needs a double door or a wide single door and a freight-rated elevator; measure both before ordering. It ships assembled on a pallet with the screen and payment tower fitted, so plan the path to the final spot before delivery day.

Load video: Peak Fuel Vending, 30 days of sales with VMFS Cloud

A real operator's first month with VMFS Cloud

Peak Fuel Vending runs his own route on VMFS machines and filmed his first 30 days. The cabinet in the video is a Smart Combo; the Cloud dashboard, the numbers and the team are the same ones behind the RDS, with one difference: on this machine every choice goes through the screen, so the data he shows you gets even cleaner. His route, his numbers, his opinion.

This is what makes 2 - 4X difference for you

The cabinet is the half you can see. VMFS Cloud, the screen software and the VMFS service network are the half that sells, advertises and reports while you are somewhere else.

  • Live sales, every machine. Card, cash, tap and QR in one feed. Transactions, inventory, alerts and machine status, plus what people tapped before they bought.
  • Remote pricing. Change a price from your phone and the screen updates with it. Run a lunch-hour deal on a lane and see if it moves the total. Remotely monitor and manage your vending machine.
  • Planogram and pick list. Every lane's level at a glance. Cloud builds the restock list per stop and matches it to the pictures on the screen, so a driver loads it right the first time.
  • Alerts that matter. Jam, temperature, door open, card reader offline, screen offline. Text or email, your choice.
  • Ads and promotions. Schedule what plays between sales, set up a survey or a reward rule, and read the results next to your sales. Learn more about vending machine advertising.

The core is machine + Cloud + payments. Your Cloud login is set up before the machine ships. Location sourcing is an add-on further down, if you want it.

Built For The Spots Where The Machine Is Part Of The Space

This snack and drink vending machine replaces the keypad with a 21.5-inch touchscreen, and that changes how people buy. They see a picture of every product, tap it, pay with cash, card, phone or a QR code, and collect from a locked pickup box. Behind the glass, six pull-out drawers hold cans, bottles, bags and boxed items with lane widths and depths you set yourself, up to 60 selections and about 300 items. Compressor refrigeration with foam insulation holds the cabinet anywhere from 39°F to 77°F, or runs ambient for snacks only. The glass defogs itself, the interior is LED-lit, and an optional light box or advertising display on top makes the machine the brightest thing in the room. It is the same thickened steel cabinet whether you put it in a hospital lobby or a stadium concourse.

The screen is a second storefront

A keypad machine sells. This one also advertises, asks questions and hands out rewards, and it reports on all of it. All of this is software, configured with your person before the machine ships and changed remotely afterward.

Ads between sales

Play the building's announcements, a sponsor's spot, or your own promotions. Sell the slot to a brand or trade it for the placement.

Surveys

A two-tap question after checkout. Ask a gym what flavor to stock next, ask a hotel how the stay is going, and read the answers in Cloud.

Lotteries and random rewards

Every tenth buyer gets a free item, or a scratch-style win on screen. Locations love it, repeat purchases go up, and you set the odds.

A custom experience per site

The building's name on the welcome screen, its colors on the menu, its language options. Same machine, different storefront at every stop.

Cleaner data

Because every choice is a tap, you see what people looked at, not just what they bought. That is what tells you which lane to change.

Inside The System

Built and developed to VMFS USA standards

Thickened steel where it takes the knocks, a screen and payment tower you can service from the front, hot-swappable internals and software we configure with you. This machine is designed for the operator who runs the busiest spot on the route.

Day 1 · Delivery

It arrives ready to sell*

Trays already spaced for your planogram, product pictures loaded on the screen, ads or a welcome message set up for the site, Cloud account live, tracking sent ahead of the truck. You plug it into a standard 110V outlet, load product, and start selling.

Day 30 · First review

Your person calls with your numbers

We walk your first month of Cloud data with you: what moved, what people tapped and didn't buy, whether the reward or the ad slot is worth keeping, and price changes worth trying. This is the 30-day guarantee window, too.

Day 365 · Year one

Warranty check and route plan

Component health report from Cloud, screen and payment tower checked, any wear parts swapped under warranty, and a look at whether the ad slot and the second machine pay for themselves.

Year 2 and on ·

New look, same machine

Venues rebrand and sponsors change. A new wrap, a new logo panel or a new screen theme goes on without touching the cabinet. Move it to a new site or re-skin it for a new client from your desk.

Year 5, Year 10

Same support, no expiry date

The standard warranty ends at year one. Our support doesn't. Same Miami phone number, same U.S. parts shelf, software and screen updates for as long as the machine runs. Most parts are hot-swappable, so if a board fails in year eight, you call, we ship it, and you swap it yourself in minutes.

Three ways to get started

Same machine, same Cloud, same support. Pick the cash flow that fits.

Real Partnership. Not Just a Transaction

The machine runs on its own. These are the pieces most operators placing a screen machine end up needing anyway, from the same team. vPlaced finds the lobbies, campuses, hospitals and venues with the traffic to fill 60 selections, checks the numbers, and handles the agreement before the machine ships. Add any of them now or later.

Support answers the phone in my time zone

I've owned equipment where a service question meant an overseas ticket queue and a week of silence, so this mattered more to me than any spec on the sheet. Calling a US-based team and reaching someone who actually knows the machine changes what downtime costs you — a fault diagnosed on the phone Tuesday morning is revenue I don't lose Tuesday afternoon. I bought the extended warranty across the whole fleet on the strength of the first support call, and I've never regretted the line item.

Standard wall outlet, no electrician

It runs on a normal 110-volt outlet at 360 to 500 watts. Sounds boring until you've lost a placement because the only good spot needed $1,200 of wiring and a three-week wait on the landlord.

The custom wrap wins accounts

I put the client's logo on the wrap and suddenly it isn't a vending machine in their lobby, it's an amenity they're showing off on the tour. That $850 wrap has closed two multi-building contracts for me. Property managers care about how the lobby looks far more than they care about my commission split.

White glove delivery earned its cost

705 pounds, a loading ramp, and a 1970s doorway is not a two-guys-and-a-dolly job. White glove crew set it, leveled it, and I was loading product that afternoon.

Three shifts a day and it still looks new

My accounts are steel and fabrication plants — 24-hour traffic, gloves, forklifts going by, the occasional frustrated punch. The heavy steel cabinet has held up where lighter machines got dented in a month. Two years in the roughest plant I service and the only thing I've replaced is a bill acceptor belt.

54 adjustable slots let me actually merchandise

Every account wants something different. The biotech campus wants protein and sparkling water; the warehouse across town wants energy drinks and jerky. Fifty-four adjustable slots means re-planogramming is an afternoon of moving shelves, not a different piece of equipment and another purchase order. The real change is behavioral — I test three or four new SKUs a quarter now, because the cost of guessing wrong is a reset instead of dead inventory sitting in a machine I can't reconfigure. Two of my best-selling items this year were things I only tried because trying was cheap.

I stopped driving to machines that didn't need me

VMFS Cloud tells me what sold and what's low before I load the van. I pre-kit by machine now instead of hauling a full inventory and guessing. Between that and catching a bill acceptor fault the same day it happened, remote monitoring is the feature I'd fight to keep.

Conveyor delivery killed my refund calls

Spring coils and a 20-ounce bottle are a bad marriage. I used to field a hang-up call about once a week and every one of them cost me either a refund, a truck roll, or a little bit of the account's patience. The conveyor tray lowers the product instead of dropping it, so hangs stopped being a category of problem. Practical upshot: I can run glass bottles, protein bars, and bagged chips in the same cabinet without engineering the planogram around what will and won't fall correctly. That flexibility is worth more to me than the hardware difference cost.

Adjustable 39 to 77 degrees saved my summer

Phoenix summers turn an ambient snack machine into a candy melter. Dialing the whole cabinet down digitally means chocolate survives June through September, and I bring it back up in winter instead of paying to over-chill chips.

The 32-inch screen sells for me

I was skeptical about paying for a big display. Then I watched people stand in front of it. The 32-inch touchscreen makes browsing feel like a kiosk instead of squinting at a coil chart, and the units I put it in front of a lobby are outperforming my older glass-front machines in the same buildings.

Cashless finally outgrew cash on these

Apple Pay, Google Pay, tap, swipe — and coin and bill for the holdouts. Cashless is running past three-quarters of transactions on my RDS units and the average ticket climbed with it, because nobody is capping their purchase at whatever change is in their pocket. What surprised me was the back-office effect: less cash means less counting, fewer bank runs, and a lot less variance between what the machine says it sold and what's actually in the bag. My route accountant noticed before I did.

700 items means I'm on site once a week, not three times

Capacity is the whole ballgame on a spread-out route. Roughly 700 items across 54 slots means my mid-size accounts go a full week between fills instead of me swinging back Wednesday and Friday. I cut one truck day out of my week and the fuel line on my P&L dropped with it.

FAQs

What does the touchscreen actually do for sales?

It shows a picture of every product with the price, so customers browse instead of squinting at a coil number. Buyers pick faster, pick more, and pay with whatever they have: cash, card, tap, Apple Pay, Google Pay or a QR code. Between sales the screen runs whatever you load, from a house ad to a sponsor's spot.

Can I run ads on it, and who pays for them?

Yes. You schedule what plays and when from Cloud. Some operators sell the screen time to a local brand, some run the location's own announcements as part of the placement deal, and some promote their own high-margin lanes. The optional advertising top display adds a second screen for the same content.

What are the surveys, lotteries and rewards?

Software features on the screen. A survey asks one or two questions after checkout. A lottery or random reward gives a free item or a discount at odds you set. A custom experience means the site's name, colors and language on the menu. Your person configures these with you before shipping and you change them remotely afterward.

How much does it hold?

About 300 items across up to 60 selections on six pull-out drawers. A typical layout runs two drawers of cans, two of bottles, one of bagged snacks and one of boxed items like cup noodles. Products from a small candy bar up to 7.9" × 5.9" × 5.9" and about a pound fit the lanes.

Do I need a location before I order?

No. Most first-time operators order first and line up the spot during the 3 to 7 day ship window. For this machine the spot matters more than most, because the screen earns its keep in front of traffic. If you would rather have a location first, add vPlaced and we start sourcing before the machine ships.

How does financing work?

VMFS USA does not finance in-house. We partner with third-party providers so the terms match your purchase. You pick the machine and request a quote, most partners run a soft credit check that does not affect your score, and many decisions come back same-day. Options range from interest-free pay-in-four to extended monthly plans, and you can finance more than one machine, subject to approval.

What does delivery look like?

In-stock units ship within 3 to 7 business days. Standard freight runs 7 to 14 business days depending on where you are; expedited is available. At 606 lb and 50.2" wide, plan for a loading dock or liftgate and confirm door and elevator widths. White glove brings it inside and places it. You will have tracking and setup guidance before the truck shows up.

What does the location need?

Floor space for a 50.2" × 31.1" footprint with 40" of clearance in front for the door, a doorway wide enough to bring it in, and a standard 110V outlet. No special wiring. The card reader brings its own cellular connectivity, and a 4G module is available if the site has no Wi-Fi.

Does it take cash?

Yes. The bill acceptor and coin mech upgrade includes a coin dispenser, so it gives change. Cards, tap and mobile wallets come with the card reader upgrade, and QR payment runs on the screen. Most operators fit both at busy sites, since a lobby or campus sees every kind of buyer.

Is VMFS Cloud included?

Yes, every machine purchase includes a free 90-day VMFS Cloud trial and your login comes with the machine. Sales, inventory, alerts, pricing and machine status in one place, plus the ad schedule, survey answers and reward results for this machine.

What happens if something breaks?

Call (305) 395-3997 or email info@vmfsusa.com, 24/7. Support is U.S.-based. Year one is covered by the 1-year parts warranty, and replacement parts, including the screen and payment components, are stocked domestically. Drawers pull out without tools and most internal components hot-swap, so most fixes are quick.

What if the location does not work out?

The 30-day satisfaction guarantee covers the first month. Beyond that, the drawers reconfigure for a different mix, the screen re-skins for a new site from Cloud, and lifetime support includes location guidance. Plan freight handling for the move; at 606 lb this is not a two-person carry.

Can I ship it outside the U.S.?

Yes. The unit runs on 100 to 240V and MDB-compatible payments, so export-ready configurations for Latin America and the Caribbean are available. Talk to your person about the landed cost.

Didn't find your answer?

Call (305) 395-3997 or send a message. A person replies within one business day.
